Hit the trails! The GR Bar Ranch has miles of private trails and roads that are perfect for guests who enjoy hiking through varying terrain and altitudes. Although every trail is different, they all boast beautiful views, abundant wildlife, and the sound of natural silence.
Terrain. Hike through dense aspen groves that give way to flower-filled meadows and cross gentle streams before strolling beside the flowing canal as you make your way up to one of the secluded lakes; or hike along ridgelines where you will be amazed by the views.
Altitude. The GR Bar Ranch offers a multitude of views from the top, and as such, our altitudes begin at roughly 7,200 ft and climb steadily to 9,800 ft before reaching the Grand Mesa National Forest, which climbs to approximately 11,000 ft. Hikers should hydrate at all times and rest whenever necessary to avoid the adverse side effects of high altitude.
Can’t get enough? If you are feeling really adventurous and want to venture beyond our property, you are welcome to hike into the Grand Mesa National Forest and/or the Gunnison National Forest, both of which border the GR Bar Ranch.
