This cabin was aptly named for the empty whiskey jugs and skulls displayed by sheepherders from long ago.
Located in gamble oak at an elevation of 8,000 feet, Whiskey Jug provides hunters with shelter should they find themselves in inclement weather while hunting. It is surrounded by Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and terrain that elk and bears prefer.
The cabin itself is 100% rustic inside with a small open room that will accommodate five hunters. It has a four-burner propane stove and water is furnished via coolers and refrigeraion by an ice chest. It also has corrals should hunters need to contain a horse or two while at the cabin. Bear Lake can be found a short distance from the cabin.
Again, this cabin is not available for leasing, but provides hunters with an overnight stay (on rotation) during inclement weather.
